Employee Volunteer Program Consultations
Employee volunteer programs vary across businesses, from a few hours at a one-day group event to long-term individual commitments. The Volunteer Center can help tailor a program that meets your company's goals, your employee's interests and our community's needs. We have valuable resources for your business, whether you are large or small, local or national. We are happy to provide assistance to any company, whether or not you run a United Way campaign.
Workplace Volunteer Council (WVC)
The WVC is a coalition of businesses that promote volunteerism among their employees to benefit our community. The WVC provides networking opportunities, sharing of best practices, professional development, and joint strategic initiatives designed to meet community needs. More information on benefits and how to get involved here.
Days of Caring
Teams of volunteers are matched to service projects with local nonprofits. Projects can include working with clients, landscaping, painting, community beautification, or other needs that local agencies have. In August 2011, we coordinated a Day of Caring for 140 Procter and Gamble employees at 15 project sites!
United Way Workplace Volunteer Program
Our staff looks forward to volunteering together once a quarter. In 2011, we've organized books at the Shelter House Book Sale, hammered nails at Habitat House's Dottie Ray Women's Build, and had a great morning at Pathways, putting up a Christmas Tree, making cookies, and playing games.
